Messe München turns 50!
The company was founded on April 1, 1964. Today, just five decades later, Messe München is one of the leading organizers of trade fairs and exhibitions in the world. Messe München’s online chronicle shows everything that has happened to the company in the past fifty years. It includes key as well as memorable moments from the company's history: From its modest beginnings at "Theresienhöhe" to having the world's most modern trade-fair center at the site of the former airport in Riem and building the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC); from Munich's first international trade fair (International Transport Exhibition in 1965) to the largest trade fair in the world (bauma); from the 1972 Olympics to the papal visit and the media center for the FIFA Soccer World Cup in 2006.
